Latest Update on Duel Monsters Showdown Pay-Per-View In November

(LOS ANGELES) There is a lot of information in regards to what the format of the new Duel Monsters Showdown Pay-Per-View is going to be. All of them are a positive for the SmackDown brand, since it is going to be a SmackDown exclusive show.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, all of the matches on the Pay-Per-View will be all Duel Monsters contested matches. The rules are going to be determined by official Duel Monsters Judges and Los Angeles Wrestling Academy referees. Also, every championship will be defended in a Best 2-out of-3 Match Duels between champion and challenger, with a 30 minute time limit, instead of the traditional 40 minutes that are given for each round at local tournaments across Los Angeles.

Also stated in the Observer, Los Angeles Wrestling Academy Chairwoman Lucy Camden Kinkirk had said that the Duel Monsters Format that the Los Angeles Wrestling Academy will be using for the Pay-Per-View will be the Worldwide Traditional Duel Monsters Format, which has any forbidden cards like "Monster Reborn" and "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End" at 1. This is the same format that the Los Angeles Wrestling Academy currently uses for both RAW and SmackDown's Duel Monsters Championship contests on television and LIVE Events. However, the new Link Summoning mechanic that will be introduced to North America in July, will not be used on Los Angeles Wrestling Academy television or LIVE Events because it has to be tested first.
